What is Nifty 50?

Nifty 50 is the standard index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India. It is a stock market index that tracks the performance of the top 50 companies listed on the NSE.

The Nifty 50 index is widely used as a standard for the Indian stock market and is used by investors, traders, and fund managers to track the performance of the Indian equities market. The index is also used as the underlying asset for many financial products such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index futures and options.

The Nifty 50 index is reviewed and rebalanced twice a year, in March and September, to ensure that it remains representative of the Indian stock market. The index is also divided into various sectors such as banking, energy, IT, and pharma, allowing investors to track specific sectors’ performance within the Indian stock market.
